HISTORY OF AVOCADO

History of Avocado: Known as AHUACATL in Aztec culture, avocado is an ancient fruit which taste was part of their daily diet.

When the Spaniards arrived in the Aztec empire, they were amazed by the richness of the avocado, thus inheriting the taste and tradition of cultivating it for future generations.

THE CAPITAL OF AVOCADO

The volcanic soil and mild climate of Uruapan, Michoacán in Mexico; allows the avocados to reach their full flavor and quality.

Thanks to the work of growers like Don Joaquin (founder of Alejandrina Avocados), the city of Uruapan is recognized as the “Avocado’s Cradle and Capital of the World”.
